One of the most common limiting beliefs I hear from professionals, leaders, and even young immigrants trying to build their careers is this:
👉 “I need to be perfect before I take action.”
It sounds reasonable, right? After all, who doesn’t want to get things “right” the first time?
But here is the truth: this belief quietly holds so many people back.
Instead of moving forward, they get stuck in:
âś” Endless preparation
âś” Polishing and over-editing
âś” Constant second-guessing
âś” Comparing themselves to others
And while all this is happening… opportunities pass by. Doors close. Confidence shrinks.
The reframe?
✨ Progress matters more than perfection.
Every small, imperfect step you take is a brick laid on the path to the life you want. Waiting for perfect means you may never begin and the world misses out on your gifts.
Now, let me be clear this isn’t an excuse for haphazard or careless delivery. Excellence matters. But excellence grows through consistent effort, learning, and improvement not through waiting for the “perfect” moment.
This is one of the practical strategies I share in my book Shush! simple, relatable ways to silence limiting beliefs and take bold steps forward.
